French footballer Jeremy Mathieu, who ended his football career in Sporting Lisbon last year, made a scandalous confession about his career.
“I DID NOT WANT TO GO TO BARCELONA”
Speaking to L’Equipe from the French press, Mathieu said that he did not want to leave the team when he received an offer from Barcelona. Stating that he tried a very different way because he wanted to stay in Valencia, Mathieu said, “I received an offer from Barcelona, but I did not want to go there. I was happy in Valencia. I did not want to go there and polish the bench.” dedim.
“I HAVE FAKE CONTRACT”
Saying that he was designing a fake contract, Mathieu dedim, “At that time, I set an amount between the fee I received from Valencia and the one offered by Barcelona and made a fake contract and showed it to the Sportive Director Rufete. Rufete agreed, but the president refused. I felt they didn’t trust me, and I left. ” dedim.
Mathieu, who played for Valencia between 2009-2014, later transferred to Barcelona for 20 million euros. Mathieu set off for Sporting in 2017 and put an end to his career in 2020.
